Prof. Lei Aiwen of Wuhan University was invited to visit LICP

   Prof. Lei Aiwen, a specially-appointed professor of college of chemistry and molecular sciences, Wuhan University, was invited to visit our institute by Prof. Xia Chungu, from May 14th to May 16th, 2009. Prof. Lei presented his lecture with the title of “Novel Approach and Understanding toward Cross-coupling Reactions” on May 15th. He introduced the cross-coupling reactions catalyzed by transitional metals Pd, Ni ect in detail; discussed deeply on the reaction mechanism and dynamics of cross-coupling reaction; shared his work experience about the sides of directing students and applying funds. More than forty research fellows and students participate in the public lecture, and hold deeper discussions and communications about the content of the lecture with Prof. Lei after his lecture delivering.

   Prof. Lei had graduated from Huaibei Coal Normal College in 1995, that same year, he made his further postgraduate and doctoral study in Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, CAS; since gotten the PhD in 2000, Dr. Lei had went to Pennsylvania State University and the Stanford University to engage in the Post-Doc research. At present, he is the professor of college of chemistry and molecular sciences, and the executive director of the Institute of Green Catalysis of Wuhan University. Prof. Lei had published more than 20 papers in these magazines: J. Am. Chem. Soc.; Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.; Org. Lett.; J. Org. Chem.; Adv. Synth. Catal.; Eur. J. Org. Chem. Thereinto, there were six papers published in the global top-grade chemical magazines J. Am. Chem. Soc. and Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.
