LICP Won Awards for Manned Spaceship Project

   Recently, in order to commend the advanced collectives and individuals upon their outstanding contributions to the Shenzhou-7 Manned Spaceship Mission, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Ministry of Industry and Informatization, and General Equipment Department of the People’s Liberation Army jointly granted 20 collectives the title of “Advanced Collective with Prominent Contributions to the China’s Manned Spaceship Project” and 119 individuals the title of “Advanced Individual with Prominent Contributions to the China’s Manned Spaceship Project”. The Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physic, Chinese Academy of Sciences, won the title of “Advanced Collective with Prominent Contributions to the China’s Manned Spaceship Project” and Prof. Weng Lijun won the title of “Advanced Individual with Prominent Contributions to the China’s Manned Spaceship Project”.

 
   Last September, Shenzhou-7 Manned Spaceship was successfully launched and an astronaut successfully egressed in the space for the first time, which has been a great breakthrough in China’s development of space technology. And it was also a milestone in the development of China’s manned spaceship project, a symbolic achievement in the construction of an innovative country, a feat in the Chinese people’s climbing of the summit of science and technology and an outstanding contribution Chinese people made to human’s exploration of the outer space.
 
   In the Shenzhou-7 Manned Spaceship Mission, the space trial of solid lubricating materials researched and developed by the LICP has contributed greatly to the satisfactory accomplishment of the Shenzhou-7 Manned Spaceship Mission.
