Prof. YOU Shuli from the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC) of the CAS came to the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP), CAS, and delivered a report entitled “Selective Control of C-H Direct Functionalization” on September 1.

In his report, Prof. YOU introduced his group’s research in selective control of C-H direct functionlization in recent years and analyzed the research background, significance, reaction process and reaction mechanism of vinylation of allyl, arylation, tandem vinylation of allyl/amination, regioselective alkylation of indoles, tandem catalytic reaction. After the report, Prof. YOU had a discussion with the attendees and shared his experience in doing research with them. The report session was presided over by Prof. HUANG Hanmin of the State Key Laboratory for Oxo Synthesis and Selective Oxidation (OSSO) of the LICP. About 50 researchers and postgraduates attended the report.

Prof. YOU is the winner of the National Outstanding Youth Foundation, recipient of  vice director of the State Key Laboratory of Organometallic Chemistry of the SIOC. He has been engaged in organometallic chemistry and asymmetric synthesis for years. He has published over 70 papers in Chem. Soc. Rev., J. Am. Chem. Soc. and Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.; has applied and obtained more than 20 national and international authorized patents; has won the Thieme Chemistry Journals Award, Chemical Thesis Award for Youth initiated by the John Wiley & Sons, Inc. and Chinese Chemical Society, Top 100 Best Ph. D. Theses of the China, Special Prize of the President Scholarship for Postgraduate Students of the CAS and so on.
