The 2010 annual report meeting of the“Basic Research on Lubricating and Anti-wear Materials Under Harsh Conditions” project was held on Oct. 30 in Yichang of Hubei Province. The project was supported by the National Program on Key Basic Research Project (973 Program) and undertaken by the State Key Laboratory of Solid Lubrication of the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP) of the CAS. The chief scientist of the project was Prof. LIU Weimin of the LICP.

Prof. DENG Xianmo of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China chaired the meeting. Prof. DENG, Prof. XUE Qunji of the LICP and Prof. HAO Jingcheng of the Shandong University heard the annual reports of 6 research subjects. During the meeting the major progress achieved in 2010 and plan for 2011 were discussed.

As far as the project is concerned, certain achievements have been made in 2010, including 1 National Award for Technological Invention, 1 National Award for Science and Technology Progress, 3 ministerial and provincial awards, more than 80 published papers and over 20 applied patents.
