Third Session of Fifth Academic Committee of State Key Laboratory of Solid Lubrication Held in Wuhan

The third session of the fifth academic committee of the State Key Laboratory of Solid Lubrication (LSL) at the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was held in Wuhan, Hubei province on November 5.

The theme of the session was: summary of the lab’s work in 2011, plan of the lab’s development in 2012 and preparation for the evaluation of the lab.

The session was chaired by Prof. XUE Qunji, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the academic committee of the lab. The session was attended by Prof. LI Jian, vice director of the academic committee, members of the academic committee, including Prof. ZHANG Siwei, Prof. GE Shirong, Prof. WANG Tianmin, Prof. ZHAO Yuan, Prof. HU Yuanzhong, Prof. ZHOU Zhongrong, Prof. DAI Zhendong, Prof. WANG Liqin, Prof. HAO Jingcheng, Prof. ZHANG Zhijun, Prof. WANG Haidou, Prof. LIU Weimin, Prof. YANG Shengrong and Prof. CHEN Jianmin. Besides, Prof. QIANG Yinghuai from Chinese University of Mining and Technology, Prof. YAN Fengyuan and Prof. ZHOU Feng, vice directors of the lab, Prof. WANG Qihua, vice director of the LICP and about 20 young researchers engaging in lubrication also attended the session.

During the session, Prof. LIU Weimin, director of the lab, made a report summarizing the lab’s work in 2011 and introducing the plan for 2012. Prof. LIANG Jun and Dr. WANG Jianzhang delivered lectures entitled Preparation and Performance of Functional/Protective Layers on Light Metal Surfaces and Study of the Tribological Properties of Materials in Seawater Environment respectively.
