In his lecture, Professor Lee Won Jong introduced an online selection method of anti-oxidant active substance from natural products based on high performance liquid chromatography. His group has extracted 4 natural products with anti-oxidant property from Ligularia fischeri var. spiciformis Nakai. He also introduced the current status microbiology on major food and genetically modified food in Republic of Korea.
Professor Lee Won Jong received his bachelor’s degree in 1977 from the Seoul National University. He received his master’s and doctors’ degree from North Dakota State University in 1982 and 1985 respectively. He then did postdoctoral research at University of Wisconsin from 1985 to 1986. He is now the director of the College of Food and Nutrition of the Kangnung-Wonju National University.
