Professor HE Zisen, executive director of Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), visited Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), on August 21. During his visit, Prof. HE delivered a report entitled IMRE--Where Innovation Meets Enterprise.
In his report, Prof. HE gave a comprehensive introduction of IMRE from the aspects of its mission, personnel, organization, research areas, scientific achievements, research platforms, cooperation with enterprises, future plan, etc. In particular, he shared his experiences in how to cooperate with enterprises, IMRE’s various cooperation models with different companies, how to combine research with market needs with LICP researchers.

Introduction to Professor HE Zisen:
Professor HE Zisen is the Executive Director of the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), professor of the Department of Chemistry of National University of Singapore (NUS), President-Elect of the Federation of Asian Chemical Societies (FACS) (2013-2015), president of Singapore National Institute of Chemistry (since 2003). He was also once the director of the Department of Chemistry of NUS (1999-2003, 2005-2009).
Professor HE Zisen received his bachelor’s degree from Imperial College (London) in 1979 and doctor’s degree from Oxford University in 1983. He then did postdoctoral research in Yale University. He has published more than 300 papers in Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Acc. Chem. Res., etc. He has been the chair of many international academic conferences, including the 15th Asian Chemical Congress and 41st International Conference on Coordination Chemistry.
