LICP and W clay industries sdn bhd sign cooperation agreement |

Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the W clay industries sdn bhd signed a cooperation agreement on recycling utilization of waste clay from decolorizing clay used for decolorization of palm oil on July 28. The W Clay Industries Sdn Bhd is among the largest supplier of bleaching earth worldwide. Its production lines produce 250,000 metric tons of W Clay Industries bleaching earth annually. LICP is a multidisciplinary institute mainly engaging in the research on resource & energy chemistry, new materials, ecology & health. Since 2001, LICP has started the research on attapulgite clay, including the study of attapulgite clay based organic/inorganic composite water-retaining agents, absorbents with three-dimensional cross-linked network and highly sticky mineral gel. With the singing of the agreement, it is hoped to realize renewable and high-valued utilization of clay by making use of two sides’ respective advantages. |
