Prof. Christoph Janiak from the Institut für Anorganische und Analytische Chemie, Universität Freiburg, Germany, visited the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP), CAS, from August 27 to August 28.
Prof. Christoph Janiak
During his stay, Prof. Janiak delivered a report with the title of “Networks--from coordination polymers/MOFs over supramolecular hydrogen-bonded assemblies to metal nanoparticles stabilized in ionic liquids”.
In the report, Prof. Janiak introduced the research achievements his group has accomplished in supramolecular coordinative chemistry and material chemistry. The report covered coordination polymers/MOFs, hydrogen-bonded supramolecular assembly, metal nanoparticles stabilized in ionic liquids, material application, etc. Following the report, Prof. Janiak had a discussion with the researchers and postgraduates present.
Prof. Janiak received his doctoral degree from TU Berlin in 1987 and did postdoctoral research in the research group headed by Prof. Roald Hoffmann of the Cornell University of America and BASF AG respectively. He is now the professor of the Institut für Anorganische und Analytische Chemie, Universität Freiburg, Germany.
Prof. Janiak is also the member of the editorial boards of CrystEngComm, Wiley and ZAAC. He has made remarkable achievements in supramolecular coordinative chemistry, crystal engineering, nano-materials, catalytic polymerization of olefin; has published over 220 papers, several monographs and applied a great number of patents.
