Introduction to Professor LIU Lei:
Professor LIU Lei received his bachelor’s degree from University of Science and Technology of China in 1999 and doctoral degree from Columbia University in 2004. Then he did post-doctoral research in Scripps Research Institute. In 2007 he joined Department of Chemistry of Tsinghua University. He is now the vice-director of Organic Chemistry Institute, Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University. He received Li Foundation Heritage Prize in 2008, Bayer Investigator title in 2009, “Distinguished Professor” title by Chinese-American Chemistry & Chemical Biology Professors Association (CAPA), “Young Chemist Award” by Chinese Chemical Society and “Thieme Synlett/Synthesis Journal Award” in 2010. His research interests include chemical synthesis and bio-medical application of proteins, catalytic synthesis and application of biologically active small molecules. He has published more than 100 papers in J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Review as the first author or corresponding author.
