Abstract: In order to eliminate the effect of impurity on the content determination of swainsonine in Oxytropis kansuensis Bunge , macroporous adsorptive resin(MAR) has been used as a sample pretreatment technology. The sample purified with MAR was performed by HPLC and the swainsonine content in Oxytropis kansuensis Bunge was determined. The spiked recovery ratio was 92.81% with a RSD of 3.67%. RSDs of intra- and inter- day precisions of the method were 1.40% and 3.98%, respectively. The linear range was 0.022~0.730 mg/mL and the detection limit was 0.010 mg/mL. The result showed that the proposed method can remove impurity effectively and is suitable for the content determination of swainsonine in Oxytropis kansuensis Bunge.
