Abstract: Puerarin shows a sensitive derivative oxidation peak at +0.57 V by using the cyclic voltammorgam in buffer solution of 0.02mol/L NH4 Ci-NH3.H2O (pH 8.0). The peak is current is proportional to the concentration of Puerarin in the range of 1.046×10-7~5.767×10-5 mol/L with r=0.9989. The detection limit is 1.046×10-7mol/L. This method has been applied to determine Puerarin with satisfactory results. Its average recovery rate is 99.8%. The electrochemical behavior of the system has been studied at a glassy carbon electrode by cyclic voltammetry. The electrode oxidation of Puerarin at the glassy electrode is irreversible and adsorptive.
