Simultaneous Determination of Major and Minor Components in Clay Samples by XRF Spectrometry

Abstract: An X-Ray fluorescence spectrometric method(using a ZSX Primus Ⅱ XRF spectrometor) with fusion sample preparation technique has been developed for the determination of Al2O3, SiO2, Fe2O3, CaO, MgO, K2O, Na2O, MnO, P2O5, TiO2, Cu, Cr in clay.The matrix effect was corrected by experiential α coefficient and scattered line as the internal standard. The results are in agreement with certified values with precision of less than 10% RSD.
