Abstract: A method for the determination of 9 kinds of harmful substance (e.g., benzene, toluene, xylene, m or p-xylene, methylene chloride, 1,2-ethylene dichloride, 1,1,2-trichloroethane, trichloroethylene, and TDI) in solvent-based adhesives by capillary gas chromatography was established. The extraction of harmful substances in the sample and the chromatographic conditions werestudied. Under optimum conditions, the limit of detection of 9 harmful substances was between 0.1μg/mL and 3.0μg/mL with a linear range of 10~300μg/mL (R≥0.9991). The relative standard deviation was less than 5%, the recovery rate was between 91.2% and 104.1%. Results showed that the method is convenient, rapid, and with high recovery and high reproducibility.
