Abstract: Under the controlling synthesis conditions of experiment, different morphologies of ZnO nanostructures were produced by sol-gel method and chemical solution growth method. Various characterization techniques, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), were utilized to analyze the microscopic morphology and crystalline phase of the ZnO nanostructures. The results showed that three kinds of ZnO nanostructures were in different shapes; but they all possessed the hexagonal wurtzite structures; ZnO nanorods and flower-like ZnO nanostructures were both single crystal with the same growth direction along (0001); ZnO nanospheres were polycrystalline.
