Study of the enzymatic synthesis of amoxicillin in isooctanol

Abstract: Reaction media plays an important role in maintaining catalytic activity and stability of enzyme,we compared six differnent organic solvents which have not been investigated as reaction medium in enzymatic synthesis of amoxicillin in literature and isooctanol was selected in this paper. The optimal reaction temperature and time were obtained by studying the timecourse of the enzymatic synthesis of amoxicillin in isooctanol. The optimal reaction conditions was eatablished after optimization of concentration of substrate and enzyme using response surface and the yield of amoxicillin increased up to 91.37%.
