Abstract: A kind of cellulose solvent N-methyl-morpholine-N oxidie (NMMO) was synthesized from N-methyl-morpholine (NMM) by using titanium−silica hollow spheres as catalysts. The structure of the catalyst was characterized by TEM, SEM, IR, etc. The synthesis conditions were studied in detail, such as the reagent ratio, reaction temperature, reaction time, and the Ti content. The optimal conditions of the reaction were obtained: reaction temperature: 70℃; the N-methylmorpholine:H2O2 ratio: 1.30:1.61; reaction time: 6 h. The 5% Ti of Ti-silica hollow spheres was selected as the best catalyst, which is anticipated to have a widely applications in catalytic oxidation of tertiary amine compounds.
