Production Ethylene from Ethanol Dehydration Catalyzed by Mesoporous Material Supported HPW

Abstract: We prepared a serial of solid acid catalysts by supporting different loadings of phosphotungstic acid on mesoporous material.The catalysts were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, N2 adsorption-desorption and TEM techniques. In addition, we applied the catalysts to the ethanol dehydration to ethylene.The catalytic results showed that both the catalytic activity and selectivity to ethylene increased with the supported content of HPW in the same reaction temperature. As far as the same catalyst was concerned, the catalytic activity and catalytic selectivity to ethylene increased with the temperature.
