Abstract: The Ni2V2O7 was prepared by sol-gel method using citric acid as complexing agent and characterized by X-ray diffraction, nitrogen physisorption, inductively-coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy, hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The temperature of the xerogel decomposition into Ni2V2O7 and the thermal effects of decomposition process were investigated by DTA-TGA. The relationship between calcination temperatures and the formation of Ni2V2O7, as well as the influence of calcining temperatures on the catalytic performance for the oxidative dehydrogenation of propane to propene were studied.
