Preparation and Characterization of Titanocene Dichloride in the Presence of Diethylamine and Its Catalytic Activity for Hydrogenation of Butadiene-Styrene Copolymer

Abstract:  The titanocene dichloride(TDC) was synthesized under mild and reliable conditions in the presence of diethylamine and mixed solvent. The yield of TDC was 78.6%. In this method the production of acidic waste water was avoided by washing product cake with methanol instead of hydrochloric acid, finally the crystals were recrystallized from toluene with good shape and high purity. And meanwhile the hydrogenation activity of the product titanocene dichloride for SBS was evaluated. Results showed that the hydrogenation efficiency reached 98% when 0, 4 mmol TDC/100g SBS was added into SBS hydrogenation system at 67-75 ℃ and 2.0 MPa.
