Abstract: The Ru-La2O3/γ-Al2O3 catalysts with various La2O3 contents were synthesized by impregnation method, tested for the CO selective oxidation and characterized by XRD,XPS,H2-TPR,CO-TPR techniques. Effects of the La2O3 loading and different pretreatments for the activity of Ru-La2O3/Al2O3catalysts were studied. The results showed that higher CO conversion (>99%) and selectivity(>55.7%) in 110~170℃were obtained when the catalyst composition was Ru1La6/Al2O3. The addition of appropriate quantity of La2O3 can improve the dispersion degree of Ru species, increase the active sites , advance the adsorption and oxidative reaction of carbon monoxide, thus enhance the catalytic activity. The Ru1La6/Al2O3 catalyst was heated in a H2/N2 mixed gas flow as the pretreatment exhibited the better catalytic performances, the binding energies of Ru species on catalyst decreased, the amounts of surface Ru species and surface lattice oxygen concentration increased, which would be benefit for the oxidation reaction of CO gas in on the surface of the catalyst.
