Abstract: In this paper, Lanthanum was introduced to Hβ zeolite using impregnationand ion-exchange methods, and x%La/Hβ catalysts were obtained. XRD, FT-IR, NH3-TPD and Py-IR were used to investigate the effects of La on the structure and acidity of Hβ zeolite. The results showed that, the two methods did not change the skeleton structure of Hβ zeolite, but the crystallinity decreased it obviously. There was an increase in the amount of the total acid and Brønsted acid. When were used as catalysts in the reaction of ethanol and tert-butyl alcohol synthesis of ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE), The results showed that, the ion-exchange method could improve the activity of Hβ zeolite, while the impregnation method reduced its activity.
