Abstract: The latest study progress, applications of ethylene carbonate as an alternative carbon dioxide synthetic unit, specifically the transesterification of ethylene carbonate with alcohols, amines and esters to synthesize high value-added fine chemicals and degradable polyesters are discussed in detail. The future development tendency and prospect of variuos transesterification are pointed out.
