Abstract: A series of molybdovanadophosphoric cobalt heteropoly compounds withDawson type are synthesized and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The catalytic activity of the molybdovanadophosphoric cobalt heteropoly compounds for theoxidationof ethylbenzene to acetophenone with H2O2 and the effects of reaction conditions were studied. The results show that the conversion of ethylbenzenewas 81.1% and the yield of acetophenone was 53.4% under the suitable reaction conditions of the amount of ethylbenzene 25mmol, Co4HP2Mo15V3O62 catalyst 0.05mmol, acetic 20ml, n(C6H6)/n(H2O2)=0.125, n(Br-)/n(Co2+)=25, reaction time 1h, the temperature 80 ℃.
