Abstract: In asymmetric catalyzed reactions, enantioselective nitroaldol (or Henry) reaction is a quite active direction during these years. Since the first asymmetric example of Henry reaction was achieved in 1992, many different catalysts have been discovered one after another, including metallic catalysts which contain rare-metal, Cu, Zn, Cr, Co, organic catalysts and nano-MgO as well as biocatalysts. Some reports about asymmetric Henry reaction was summarized in this paper, according to the structure of catalysts, reaction condition and the scope of the reaction.

Key words: Henry reaction; asymmetric reaction; catalyst
