Abstract: PolydicycloPentadiene (PDCPD) was synthesized through reaction injection molding. The results showed that it possessed high toughness and rigidity. The tribological properties of PDCPD under both dry sliding and oil-lubricated conditions were studied using a MM-200friction and wear tester. And the results showed that wear of PDCPD was dominated by adhesive wear at low loads under dry sliding, however, at high load severe mechanical cutting and Plastic deformation appeared. The wear mode was similar to fatigue wear. Under oil-lubricated condition, wear of PDCPD was dominated by typical abrasive wear, and PDCPD presented excellent tribological properties.

Key words: PDCPD, reaction injection molding, mechanical properties, friction and wear behavior
