Abstract: Low pressure aided molten infiltration has been successfully used to fabricate fine weave pierced carbon fiber fabric reinforced copper(3D-Cf/Cu) composites. The tribological characteristic of this 3D-Cf/Cu composites was investigated under various current values. The results indicated that oxidative wear occurred on the worn surface of composites due to the effect of electric arc. At fixed sliding velocity and normal load, friction coefficient of composites decreasesd while the wear rate increased with increasing current value. Moreover, tribological properties of the 3D-Cf/Cu composites were better than that of copper under the same condition.
