Date:22-11-2011 |

The tenth national conference on tribology was held in Wuhan from November 5 to November 8. Participated in the Symposium were more than 500 researchers engaged in tribology from the mainland of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

As of one of the organizers, Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) sent a delegation to participate in the event, including Prof. XUE Qunji, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the academic committee of the LICP and about 40 researchers and graduates.

Altogether 220 papers were collected during the conference, covering the hot topics and latest development in the basic and applied research area in tribology.

Prof. LIU Weimin, director of the LICP and director of the State Key Laboratory of Solid Lubrication of the LICP and Prof. ZHANG Junyan from the LICP were invited to deliver plenary reports. Prof. WANG Qihua, vice director of the LICP and director of the R&D Center of Lubricating and Protecting Materials at the LICP, Prof. ZHOU Feng, and Prof. WANG Liping were invited to give lectures. Some graduates from the LICP gave oral presentations.

The conference was hosted by the Tribology Institution of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES), organized by Wuhan Research Institute of Materials Protection and Wuhan University of Technology.

At the same time, the election of the Tribology Institution of the CMES was also held. Prof. LIU Weimin was elected eighth chairman of the Tribology Institution, Prof. WANG Qihua executive director of the broad and Prof. ZHANG Junyan member of the board. Prof. WANG Liping received Young Scholar Award in the Field of Tribology.
