The 10th Youth Academic Forum of LICP was held in the Academic Hall of the Lihua Building on April 16, 2010. More than 200 young staff and postgraduates attended the Forum. 9 young researchers from the disciplines of resource chemistry, new materials and chemical biology made reports on their recent research.
To enlarge young researchers’ views, one researcher returning from abroad has been invited to give a plenary report for every forum. This time Prof. HUANG Hanmin returning from Japan, has been invited to present the report entitled “Selective Control of Chemistry and Studies”. Prof. HUANG communicated with the audience about the training postgraduates need, how to write academic theses, etc, and shared his own research experience with young researchers. He also introduced his research group’s recent work.
The young researchers introduced their respective research from the aspects of research background, innovation and significance of the research, etc. After the presentation, the host, Prof. WANG Xiaolai commented on the reports and made a summary.
Through judges’ appraisal, 6 reports were awarded “Excellent Report”.
Since the year 2004, altogether 10 forums have been held and about 150 researchers have presented reports introducing their work. The forum has served well as a platform for young staff and postgraduates to exchange ideas and expand visions.
