The first meeting of the 5th academic committee of the State Key Laboratory for Oxo Synthesis and Selective Oxidation (OSSO) of the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP), CAS, was held in Lanzhou from July 26 to July 27.

During the meeting, Prof. LIU Weimin, director of the LICP, and Prof. LI Can, director of the academic committee of the OSSO, made opening speeches respectively. Prof. XIA Chungu, director of the OSSO, introduced the general conditions, major progress, plan for future development, etc, of the Laboratory to the academic committee. Afterwards, the academic committee heard reports from part of the young researchers of the Laboratory. Then Prof. SUN Wenhua, Prof. XU Boqing, Prof. LEI Aiwei and Prof. DING Kuiling were also invited to give reports about their research.

In the later discussion session, the academic committee spoke highly of the achievements the Laboratory has made and brought up suggestions concerning the future development of the Laboratory.

The members of the academic committee who have attended the meeting were Prof. LI Can, member of the CAS, Prof. WAN Huilin, member of the CAS, Prof. WANG Rui, Prof. DING Kuiling, Prof. WANG Jianguo, Prof. XU Jianhe, Prof. JIN Guoxin, Prof. ZHAO Jincai, Prof. XU Jie, Prof. XU Boqing, Prof. XIA Chungu and Prof. CHEN Jing. Prof. XUE Qunji, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, visiting professors of LICP, namely Prof. LEI Aiwei, Prof. SUN Wenhua, Prof. SHE Xuegong, Prof. HU Xinquan, and Prof. XIN Jiaying attended the meeting as well.
