Prof. SHI Yanping, assistant director of the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP) of the CAS, was appointed the member of the new editorial board of the Journal of Asian Natural Products Research (JANPR) during the meeting of the new editorial board of the journal held in Jinan, Shandong province recently.
JANPR is an international publication established jointly by the Institute of Materia Medica of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Taylor & Francis Group Corporate in 1998. It has been included in the database of the SCI. Its chief editor is Prof. YU Dequan, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and famous pharmaceutical chemist in China.
The papers published in this journal are mainly about separation and identification of natural products, structure determination, synthesis and structure modification, biosynthesis and biotransformation, biological activity and pharmacological action, with special emphasis given to the research results contributed by researchers from Asian countries, such as China, Japan, South Korea, India, etc.
Prof. SHI is also the director of the Key Laboratory of Chemistry of Northwestern Plant Resources of the CAS. His main research focus is natural pharmaceutical chemistry, separation and analytical science. He has made certain accomplishments in extraction and separation of natural products, structural determination and modification and quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) of compounds, establishment of modern separation and analytical methodology for natural medicines.
In 2008 he has published Chemistry of the Monoterpenes and Sesquiterpene, a separately published part of Chemistry of Natural Products.
