Prof. QIN Yong

Prof. QIN Yong, professor honored as Cuiying Scholar of the Lanzhou University, gave a lecture at the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP) of the CAS on October 27, 2010. The title of the lecture was Nanogenerator and Nanowires UV Sensor.

In his report, Prof. QIN introduced the mechanism and significance of the nanogenerators using ZnO nanowires, the progress his research group made in the design, preparation and application of nanogenerators and highly sensitive ultraviolet detectors with nanowires.

Prof. QIN is also the director of the Institute of Nano Science and Technology of the Lanzhou University. His research interest includes nano-energy technologies, functional nano devices and energy harvesting nano-based technologies. His research on the nanogenerators has exerted significant influence on the work in this field. He has published several papers in Nature, Nature Nanotechnology, Applied Physics Letters, Science of Advanced Materials, Nano Letters and so on.

Prof. QIN has received the support from the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University in 2008 and won the Ross Coffin Purdy Award of the American Ceramic Society (the most valuable award in the ceramic area) in 2009.

Prof. QIN was invited by the State Key Laboratory of Solid Lubrication.
