Prof. LIU Weimin, director of the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP) and State Key Laboratory of Solid Lubrication, was elected as the executive council member and appointed vice secretary-general of the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS) during the 9th general assembly of the CCS.

ZHAO Rongsheng of the LICP was presented the “Outstanding Staff”award of the CCS for his devotion to the Society.

The 9th general assembly of the CCS was held form Nov. 23 to Nov. 26 in 2010 in Wuyishan city of Fujian province. Over 250 representatives have attended the assembly. The council members of the 28th council were elected. Prof. YAO Jiannian, vice director of the committee of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was elected as the council chairman.
