Professor WANG Zhao from Xi’an Jiaotong University at LICP

Professor WANG Zhao from the Xi’an Jiaotong University visited the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), on July 24 and gave a lecture entitled Nanomechanics and study on value of conversion property between electricity, heat and mechanical energy during his visit.

In his lecture, Professor WANG Zhao introduced theoretical calculation and simulation under different scales, including continuous scale simulation, nano-scale simulation and atomic scale simulation. His group has investigated micro-mechanical properties, heat conduction, adsorption and thermoelectric characteristics of ZnO nanowires, carbon nanotube and other nano-materials using finite element method, molecular dynamics and first principle respectively.

Introduction to Professor WANG Zhao:

Professor WANG Zhao has been long engaged in studying energy conversion and transfer properties of new nano-materials using advanced theoretical and numerical calculation methods, including first principle, molecular dynamics, finite element method and Boltzmann transport equation. He has published more than 20 papers in Physical Review Letters, Physical Review X, Advanced Materials, Carbon, Nano Letters, etc.
