New progress in multiscale structures construction on porous silicon

New progress in ionic liquids (liquid or solid) as additives dissolved in synthetic base oil with arbitrary ratio was accomplished and a kind of crystal clear and high-performance lubricants was obtained by the research team headed by Prof. Xia Yanqiu of LICP. As additives, ionic liquids show excellent friction-reducing and wear resistance properties and they can be a kind of excellent potential lubricant additive. The research is based on Prof. Liu Weimin’s research results. The research group is dedicated to the exploration, design and development of the new high and low temperature resistant, low volatile and functionalized ionic liquids with good lubricating performance and expanding the research and application scope of ionic liquids.

The research has won support fromthe National Natural Science Foundation of China and was published in Tribol. Lett.Tribology Letters, 2009, 36,105-111 and Acta Appl. Math. (ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, 2009,1(2),467–471).
