Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), invited 3 researchers to deliver reports on homogeneous catalysis on August 17. The 3 researchers were Professor MA Junan from Tianjin University, Dr. CHEN Xiaoming from Daicel Chiral Technologies (China) Co., Ltd. and Professor XU Liwen from Hangzhou Normal University.
In his report entitled Selective synthesis of organic fluorine compounds and study on related medicine, Prof. MA introduced his group’s progress in selective oxidation of organic fluorine compounds from three aspects, namely selective oxidation of organic fluorine compounds via multi-step or one-pot reaction, methods to control asymmetric catalysis of fluorine containing building blocks, design and synthesis of fluorine containing chiral catalysts.
Dr. CHEN Xiaoming introduced the latest development in chiral stationary phases, development process of chiral GC analysis methods, application of chiral separation in new drug discovery, introduction of chiral flash separation, development of chiral reagents by chiral HPLC in his lecture titled Latest development and application of chiral chromatography. He also introduced the development of related techniques and products by Daicel Chiral Technologies (China) Co., Ltd.
The title of Prof. XU’s reports was Organic synthesis reactions guided/tuned by organic silicon compounds. He introduced his group’s work in organic synthesis reactions guided/tuned by organic silicon compounds, including the construction of new synthetic reactions based on functional silanes, chiral induction tuned by organic silicon groups, ways to tune reaction by silicon-based large group and polysiloxane.
