The CAS Key Laboratory of Chemistry of Northwestern Plant Resources at the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), held a symposium on chromatography and related techniques on August 18. The symposium was attended by around 20 experts on chromatography from all over the country.
During the symposium, three researchers gave reports on chromatography related study. Professor ZHANG Shusheng from Zhengzhou University gave a report entitled Calixarene-based new solid phase extraction materials. In the report, Prof. ZHANG introduced his work on the synthesis and application of calixarene from four aspects, namely synthesis of calixarene and its derivatives, calixarene-bonded phases, separation and retention mechanisms of calixarene-bonded phases for solvents, calixarene derivatives as solid phase extraction materials. Prof. ZHOU Wei from Gansu Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau introduced his work on the application of chromatography in the analysis of smell based on his years of experiences in this field. Prof. LI Wenzhi from Liaocheng University introduced the research background, preparation methods and application of meso-porous SBA-15 silicon balls and his group’s work on these areas as well.
