Professor HONG Zhenghao from Formosa University visited Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), on August 20.

During his stay, Prof. HONG delivered a lecture entitled A New Bio-lubricant—Lubrication Properties of Rice Straw Oil. In the report, he introduced his group’s work on preparation of rice straw oil through pyrolysis and study on its lubrication properties. He also showed the significance of their work from the perspectives of environmental protection.

Professor HONG was invited by the State Key Laboratory of Solid Lubrication and R&D Center of Lubricating and Protecting Materials.

Introduction to Professor HONG:

Professor HONG is the vice president of Formosa University. He has authored Thermal Characteristics Experiment, An Introduction to Thermodynamics, A Study on Heat Transfer and so on. His research interests include contact mechanics, tribology, heat transfer, etc. He has several patents about friction testing machine. He has been listed in Marguis who's who, Top 100 Engineers 2012, etc.
