According to the statistics about China’s sci-tech papers published in 2010 released by the China Science and Technology Information Institute, in 2010, as far as the papers collected in the database of Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP) ranks 16 among domestic research institutes with 274 papers collected. So far as the papers collected in the database of Engineering Index (EI), LICP ranks 12 with 242 papers collected.

From 2005 to 2009, in terms of the papers cited by SCI, LICP ranks 12 with 521 papers cited and about 1641 citations.

LICP ranks 34 among domestic research institutes in terms of papers collected in the China Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations Database (CSTPCD) with 190 papers collected and ranks 51 in terms of the citation of those papers with 898 citations. LICP published 73 papers with the impact factor above the average impact factor of papers in the same field, which makes it 12 among the domestic institutes.
