Professor WANG Xiaobo, from the State Key Laboratory of Solid Lubrication, Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Science, was honored the Young Scientist Award of the Gansu province on January 17.

Professor WANG’s main research interests include preparation and studies on the mechanism of new nano-lubricating materials and environmental-friendly organic lubricant additives and synthetic oil, tribochemical studies of additives and lubricating grease, application of special lubricating oil and lubricating grease. He has published more than 30 papers and applied about 19 patents. He was once granted the first prize of S&T Invention Award of Gansu province and first prize of S&T Progress Award of Gansu province.

The Young Scientist Award of Gansu province was established by the Organization Department of the Gansu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, Department of Human Resources and Social Security of the Gansu province, Gansu Association for Science and Technology in 1995. The award is granted every two years to honor young scientists with outstanding contributions to economic development, social progress and S&T innovation of Gansu province.
