A delegation of more than 30 teachers and students from the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, National University of Singapore (NUS), visited Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, on December 15, 2009.

They visited the exhibition room, State Key Laboratory for Oxo Synthesis and Selective Oxidation, State Key Laboratory of Solid Lubrication and Key Laboratory of Natural Medicine of Gansu Province. The visitors were acquainted with the history, research fields, scientific research platforms, team building, innovation culture, postgraduate education of the LICP, etc. After this, they had a discussion with the LICP researchers.

The students said that, LICP was the first institute they visited and, through the visit, they got a more profound understanding of the scientific research work.

Every half a year, the Department of Chemistry, NUS, selects 30 students to go to the research institutes, institutions of higher education, and famous enterprises in Europe and China for academic exchanges. Hopefully, these exchanges can broad students’ vision and arouse their interest in research.
