The delegation, composed of the scientific personnel of the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and personnel from the S&T Cooperation Department of the Lanzhou Branch, CAS, went to Xinjiang Province to conduct exchanges. Headed by Liu Weimin, Director of the LICP, the delegates visited the Xinjiang Branch, CAS, and the institutes of the Xinjiang Branch, S&T Bureau of Kelamayi City and Xinjiang Jinta Investment (group) Co., Ltd.. The delegation was accompanied by the Vice President of the Xinjiang Branch, Wumanjiang ALI, and the staff of the S&T Division during the visit.
The delegation had a discussion with the Xinjiang Branch and its institutes. Chaired by Fu Chunli, Vice President of the Xinjiang Branch, the discussion was attended by Wumanjiang ALI, Ren Diyuan, Director of the Xinjiang Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry (XJIPC), CAS, Li Xiao, Vice Director of the XJIPC, Tian Changyan, Vice Director of the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geology, CAS, and concerned personnel of the Xinjiang Branch. Wumanjiang ALI introduced the resources in Xinjiang and the challenges faced by Xinjinag in the high-increment utilization of resources. Liu Weimin introduced the scientific research conditions of the LICP. He hoped that both sides could combine the respective advantages, namely LICP’s advantages in the research on resource chemistry and new materials and Xinjiang’s advantages in resources to promote the cooperation, increase the added value of the downstream products of the Xinjiang petrochemical enterprises and enhance the exchanges between the personnel between two sides.
The delegation also had discussions with Xinjiang Jinta Investment Co, Ltd. and Kelamayi City about the cooperation between the LICP with them.
During the visit, Zhang Xiaolei, President of the Xinjiang Branch, met with the delegation and spoke highly of the visit.
