The project “Development and Industrialization of High Performance Lubricating Oil with Long Service Life for Wind Power Devices”, undertaken by Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), passed the acceptance check organized by the Bureau of High-tech Research and Development of CAS.

After listening to the report made by the principal investigator about the whole project and going over related paper materials, the experts group held that through 3 years’ work, researchers have made achievements which met the requirements in the mission statement and that the project could pass the acceptance criteria.

Through the implementation of the project, researchers have collected the data concerning the operating conditions of friction pieces in large wind power devices in wind fields which are representative in China; analyzed the requirements for lubricants used in large wind power devices; designed several environmental friendly lubricating additives with high performance; prepared new highly efficient synthetic ester base oil; developed formulas for high performance lubricating oil products with long service life for wind power devices using nano lubricating additives.
