The 11th National Conference on Tribology was held in Lanzhou from August 6 to August 8. The theme of the conference was “green tribology and its innovative application”. More than 460 researchers and entrepreneurs attended the conference.
The conference was hosted by the Tribology Institutions of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and organized by the State Key Laboratory of Solid Lubrication at Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
During the conference, 4 keynote speeches and 10 invited lectures were made by experts in tribology from all over the country on the latest development in tribology and its trend. In addition, more than 180 oral presentations were made during 6 parallel sessions, discussing tribology and numerical simulation in lubrication, lubrication and tribo-chemistry, industrial tribology, surface engineering, wear and friction of materials, etc.
Tribology is the science and engineering of interacting surfaces in relative motion. It includes the study and application of the principles of friction, lubrication and wear. It involves many major issues in resources, energy and environment. The conference has provided a platform for the researchers in tribology from all over the country to communicate and exchange ideas and views. Hopefully it can promote the development of tribology in China.
