Dr. ZHANG Qiang from Tsinghua University Delivers a Lecture at LICP

Dr. ZHANG Qiang from Tsinghua University visited Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on August 21. During his visit he delivered a lecture entitled Controlled catalytic preparation of layered sp2 nano carbon and its application in storage of energy.

In his report, Dr. ZHANG Qiang introduced his group’s work on the batch preparation of nano carbon tubes and their application in lithium/sulfur battery.

Dr. ZHANG Qiang was admitted to Tsinghua University in 2000 and received his doctoral degree from Tsinghua University in 2009. He then did research at Case Western Reserve University and Fritz-Haber-Institut der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft. In 2011 he joined Tsinghua University. He has published more than 100 papers in Angew Chem Int Ed, J Am Chem Soc, Adv Mater, Adv Funct Mater, ACS Nano, Nature Communications, Nano Lett, Carbon, etc. His major research interests include batch preparation of nano carbon materials and their application in heterogeneous catalysis, storage of energy, etc.
