Joint Symposium on Tribology Between LICP and Imperial College of London Held in Lanzhou

The Joint Symposium on Tribology between the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics (LICP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Imperial College of London was held in Lanzhou from September 22 to September 23. The Symposium focused on frontier in tribology. 6 scholars from the Imperial College of London, experts in tribology from China attended the Symposium.

During the Symposium, 7 scholars from the Imperial College of London and Qingdao University of Technology, 11 researchers from the State Key Laboratory of Solid Lubrication at LICP gave talks concerning their recent work in the areas of lubricant chemistry, techniques for surface coating, hydrodynamic lubrication, contact mechanics, multi-dimensional simulation, lubrication in artificial joints and so on.

Dr. LIU Weimin, a professor at the LICP and a member of the CAS acted as the chairman from the Chinese side and Prof. Hugh Spikes from the Imperial College of London acted as the chairman from the British side.

The Symposium has provided timely opportunities for researchers in tribology from LICP and the Imperial College of London to exchange academic ideas and enhance further cooperation.
