Wang Lailai, Ph,D, Head of Research Group.

Education:

1983–1987 Northwest Normal University,BSc in department of Chemistry.
1987–1990 Lanzhou University,MA in department of Materials.
1994–1997 Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lanzhou, Gansu Province, PhD in Physical Chemistry.

Work Experience:
2003-present Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Lanzhou, Professor and PhD supervisor, Current research interest is focused on asymmetric catalysis.
2001-2003 The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, Research assistant and Associate Professor, Taking up research on asymmetric catalysis.
1997–2001 Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Lanzhou,  Associate Professor,  Researching area: asymmetric catalysis and isolation of chira organic compounds.
1990-1994 Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Lanzhou, Assistant  Professor, Undertaking  asymmetric catalysis and isolation of chiral organic compounds.

Research Direction: Asymmetric Catalysis

Award Won:

“Research on enantioselectively catalytic carbonylation and hydrogenation reactons” was listed in the second class in Gansu Science and Technology Progress Award in 1999.

Projects Undertaken:

My principal research interests lie in the field of the synthesis and application of chiral ligands, among which “Pd-catalyzed asymmetric alternating copolymerization of a-alkenes with carbon monoxide using chiral diphosphine ligands” and “research on Pd-catalyzed asymmetric amidocarbonylation of aromatic aldehydes,  acetamide, and CO” are financially supported by the National of Nature Foundation of China (No. 20473107 and 20673130 respectively).
