Conclusions:
In this study, novel silver molybdate materials prepared by the hydrothermal method were first used as electrocatalysts for ORR in alkaline solution. As compared to Pt/C, the silver molybdate showed better durability. By using Ag–Mo-22 as cathode catalyst, zinc–air battery had maximum power density of 87 mWcm?2 at 0.872 V. Such facile synthesis, low cost and high stability catalysts can be regarded as candidates for application in alkaline fuel cells and metal–air batteries.
