The researchers at the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have revealed the intrinsic failure mechanism of fluorinated amorphous carbon film based on the first-principles calculations, molecular dynamics simulations and compressive stress-strain relation.
